When selecting an insurance company to insure my vehicle, what should I look for?
Apart from the obvious, price and what your policy will cover you for i.e. genuine parts. You should consider an insurance company who will give you choice of repairer. If you choose the wrong insurer you may lose the opportunity to decide what happens to your car after an accident.
Will you guarantee my repairs?
Yes, you will have peace of mind that all repairs carried out by HIGGINS are covered under Australian Consumer Law.
Can you quote my car over the phone?
No. The variable in vehicle repairs are too numerous and to provide an accurate estimate we must inspect the vehicle.
Will you update me on the repair progress?
Yes, your choice, either by telephone, SMS or email. Feel free to call or email us any time whilst your vehicle is with us.
If I need a loan car what should I do?
If the accident is not your fault, you are entitled to a replacement car at no cost. If the accident is your fault, we can arrange a hire car for you at a competitive price.
Do I need to get more than one estimate?
This depends on your individual policy, most major insurance companies will process your claim on one quote.
Can you match the colour of my car?
Yes, we have invested in the latest state-of-the art european paint system, Glasurit. This quality paint allows us to ensure your vehicle colour is matched to factory finish.
If I am not at fault, do I have an excess?
If you have the third party details, there is no reason why an excess should apply.
Who do I pay my insurance excess to?
To us the repairer, on behalf of your insurance company. If an excess applies it will need to be paid prior to or upon collection of your vehicle.
Do I notify my insurance company before the repairs are started?
